Beer
Festival
This year’s annual Charity Beer Festival organised by Hythe
& District Rotary Club at the Royal
Oak, Hilltop, Beaulieu, was a resounding success,
with crowds throughout the weekend (11th-13th
September) keen to sample some of the 23 real ales on offer.
Members of Hythe Rotary Club acted as bar staff in the
temporary bar set up in the pub garden, while local 60’s band The Trojans
provided some lively musical entertainment.
The first two beers to be sold out completely went under the
dubious names of Tabatha the Knackered and Ginger Tosser!
As well as being a fun social event, which attracted many
visitors on their way home from the nearby Beaulieu Autojumble, the Beer
Festival raised around £3000 for
charities supported by Rotary.
